Can onions help with hair growth?

Can onions help with hair growth? 📝

Onions are rich in amino acids, nutrients, and natural chemicals such as: vitamin B6, C, and E, phytonutrients, copper, potassium, sulfur, tannin, manganese, polyphenol, folate, biotin, and flavonoids. All of these are very advantageous to our scalp and hair follicles.

Most scalp condition are related to inflammation, and bacterial and fungal build-up, and onion juice has properties which helps with them.

For instance, our hair is made of protein called keratin, which is high in sulfur. Sulfur has antifungal and antibacterial properties which deep cleans bacteria, and dead skin cells build up around follicles, as well as stopping fungal infections from growing and it kills off germs and parasites. This decreases the occurrences of scalp psoriasis, severe dandruff, hereditary hair loss, alopecia, eczema, folliculitis, premature greying hair, baldness, and scalp, hair, fungi, and yeast infections.

It also contains antioxidants, anti-inflammatory, and vasodilatory properties due to its flavonoids compound called quercetin. This compound helps battle inflammation and fungal infections of the scalp. It is also great on fighting dry and itching scalp, dandruff, and revitalise dry and brittle hair due to its moisturising properties.

In addition, onion juice help to promote hair growth. The sulfur in onion juice has stringent properties which increases the blood flow which over time you will notice thicker and fuller hair because it wakes up sleeping hair follicles.

Other benefits: reverse greying hair, regenerates new hair growth, calms itchy scalp, and moisturises.

Note: Onion juice can cause some redness and itching to some people, so always do a patch test.
